NIKE GYAKUSOU HOLIDAY 2010 (AFFA JACKETS) — RUNNING AS UNDERGROUND UNIFORM

Before “techwear” became a trend, Jun Takahashi was already building the blueprint. Holiday 2010 sits at the very beginning of Nike x UNDERCOVER’s GYAKUSOU project, where performance wasn’t a vibe — it was the entire point. Real Nike Running engineering, re-designed through Jun’s lens: muted earth tones, coded typography, and silhouettes built for movement, heat control, and cold-weather layering.

But the true grails from Holiday 2010 are the jackets carrying AFFA energy.

AFFA (Anarchy Forever Forever Anarchy) isn’t just a logo. It’s Jun’s earlier anti-establishment language, rooted in Japanese subculture and graphic agitation. So when you see AFFA elements placed onto Nike tech pieces, it reads like a statement: running gear turned into an underground uniform.

The standout is the AFFA 3M Grid hooded jacket — the one collectors chase. The reflective grid isn’t decoration, it’s function: visibility at night, but also a graphic code. Built in Dri-FIT performance fleece with ergonomic patterning, articulated elbows, hidden storage, ventilation eyelets, and glove-like cuffs for winter runs — it’s a true hybrid of sport and design. Not “inspired by performance”… it IS performance.

This is why early Gyakusou hits different: it’s not nostalgia, it’s provenance. A moment where Nike innovation met UNDERCOVER ideology, and the result still feels futuristic 15 years later.

If you know, you know — Holiday 2010 AFFA pieces are museum-level.
